How do I become a member?
If you already have a library card, great—bring it on down, along with proof of your current address (e.g. driver’s license, other photo ID, utility bill or lease agreement). If you don’t already have a library card, we can sign you up for one as long as you have an acceptable form of photo ID. If your photo ID doesn’t show your current address, you will also need to confirm your address with a utility bill or lease agreement. After filling out the member application, you’re a member! The Tool Library is FREE, though we ask patrons who reside outside of Millvale for a $30 annual donation to help us build and maintain the tool collection. We can only lend tools to adults.
What tools are available to borrow?
You can see a complete list of our tools here. You can also search for tools using the photo binders at the Millvale Community Library’s front desk or by using the online catalog (Hint: Choose material type “other objects” at left to limit the results to just tools). You can check out up to 5 tools for one week at a time for free. Tools must be returned to our circulation desk during normal hours.
I want to volunteer!
If you’d like to support the Tool Library, please consider volunteering. Volunteers help in any number of ways, from staffing the desk, to fixing and maintaining tools, writing grants, and helping with promotion.
Give us a call or shoot us an email at email@example.com.
Can I give you tools?
Yes! Specific tools we are looking for include a concrete saw, welder, lightweight bicycle truing stand, a portable bike repair stand, and Pex tools. We’d also like to have more compound miter saws, finish nailers, air compressors, and bench planers. You can drop donations off during regular library hours or contact the library to arrange pick-up. Your donations are tax deductible.
You can also make financial donations to the Tool Library to help us repair and improve our tool selection. Make checks out to Millvale Community Library: Tool Library or donate with a credit card using the donate button at the top of the page.
